Originally a trumpet player, Mark studied music education at The Ohio State University, and has performed on a semiprofessional basis for nearly thirty years. Mark has written arrangements and performed with groups playing a wide variety of music including big band, jazz, country and rock.
Over a decade ago, while learning about his Cherokee heritage, Mark hand crafted his first Native American style flute and began writing original compositions. By uniting the rich, and haunting voice of the Native flute with sounds and styles of modern day instrumentation, Mark is able to bring to the attention of new audiences this magnificent instrument.
Mark released his debut album "Uncovering My Path", in 2001. His second album, "Following Spirit", was released in 2007. Mark's third album entitled, "A Higher Place", was released in the fall of 2010 and his latest release, Yesterday Today Tomorrow was released in July 2016.
Mark has performed at numerous arts festivals and events throughout Ohio and the U.S., In 2010, Mark joined the Greater Columbus Arts Council's Artist In The Schools program.
